Day 3--Newport to McMinnville

Our only plan for the day was to go on the Rogue brewery tour at 3 so we had some time to kill.  We spent the morning sleeping and relaxing till around 10 in our cheapo hotel room, after that we checked out and drove around the town's historic Nye Beach area.  It had a New England feel to it with the colonial beach houses and numerous used book stores.   We hit up a local coffee shop (a quaint place called Starbucks) and read for a few hours.  After that we walked around Yaquina bay park.
We had a quick tour of a cool old lighthouse
After that we walked down to the waterfront and explored for a bit where Aurelia practiced standing on a slippery rock.

We approached a "yee proceed at yer own risk" fence along the breakwater...we passed it.  No big deal.
Beth got some good pictures
But Aurelia fell asleep

Next on the Agenda was great tour & tasting at Rogue brewery.  Here is Beth with her Rogue pose.  "We brew beer! Wooo! We're crazy and rogue! Wooo!"

It was actually pretty good beer and a great tour (I'm pretty sure OSHA would have had a cow about the thing).  After the tour it was time for a tasting a quick snack before the drive to Matt & Brielle's place in McMinnville.
We arrived in McMinnville around 6:30 and walked along their beautiful downtown district.  We had a good sushi dinner and then chatted with the Deppes for a bit till we all fell asleep.  Their house is awesome, Beth will write more in the next post.
